Verde Van
Recently launched, Verde Autos is an Irish company that offers a range of vehicles that they’ve developed in China.
At the SEI Electric Vehicles conference they showcased their van. It deserves a close look since the cost-to-capabilities ratio look good. Verde seem to be placing a wise bet - that ‘range anxiety’ doesn’t really apply quite so much to the commercial user as it does to the individual commuter. The van might well complement a company wishing to boost its profile and the savings argument can be made. Here is the provisional information on the vehicle:
COST
| Purchase
Service Package Insurance Tax Energy Cost |
€17,995
€200 ? €80 €150 |
Price does not include VAT
Only one service is necessary per year. Energy cost is calculated at 10,000km annually charged at off-peak times. |
| Total | €18,625 |
SPECS

Max Speed Charge Time (80%) Charge Time (100%) Load Capacity |

This information is in the process of being fleshed out. The Verde Van falls under the N1 class in Europe (commercial vehicles under 3,500kg). They don’t fall under NCAP safety standards but they are obliged to pass crash testing. We hope to find out more about reliability. If Verde comes through on this then it’s an added benefit for commercial use.
